Yandex to pay staff extra salary, pauses hiring for 2 weeks

MOSCOW, Mar 1 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex will pay an extra salary to its entire staff soon and will suspend hiring new employees for two weeks, a company spokesperson told PRIME late on Monday.

“All the Yandex employees, including interns and those still on a trial period, will get one additional salary soon. As to hiring, we have decided to pause for two weeks,” the spokesperson said, adding that these measures aim to support the personnel.

Yandex’s shares plunged more than 44% last week, closing the February 25 session at 1,930 rubles on the Moscow Exchange, which was closed on Monday upon the central bank’s decision.
